Well I try to find the words to start and so many come to my mind. I was in a terrible accident that just one injury was a fracture of my c2 this was one of many parts of my body were broken brusied or just plain.hurt. I had to have a halo for 93 days.I must say all of my medical team was excellent. From the secretary to the nurses, therapist Andy made my recovery fanominal.
How our 20-year-old granddaughter managed to be lucky enough to have the top neuro surgeon at Cleveland Clinic, Akron General perform Alexandra’s major, delicate spinal surgery to remove a Ganglioneuroma tumor that had started in her chest wall then infiltrated into her spinal column, we don’t know but we are so thankful she had Dr. Hoeprich by her side. My husband and I went to Ohio to be with our granddaughter for her first appointment with him, we all knew immediately that he was not only a brilliant, competent surgeon but he was also extremely caring.
Dr. Hoeprich pointed out where the tumor had infiltrated into her spine and what the surgery process would be. He was soft-spoken and explained things in a way that Alexandra and us could understand. As we left the office, Alexandra mentioned how she felt so at ease with Dr. Hoeprich.
Our granddaughter's surgery was preformed in November of 2016 at Akron General and we were right by her side. Dr. Hoeprich's part of her delicate and extremely sensitive surgery to extract the tumor that had infiltrated into the nerves of the thorasic area of her spinal column lasted about 5 1/2 hours and when it was over, he came down to the waiting room to give us the details. While in NCICU for the four days, Dr. Hoeprich showed kindness, extreme care, concern and compassion for Alexandra.
We have been with Alexandra for all her post op follow-ups and his kind and caring ways continue. Dr. Hoeprich takes time to listen to any concerns we may have and gives his expert replies.
It you happen to need a neurosurgeon my granddaughter, husband and I highly recommend Dr. Mark Hoeprich.
We are more like Alexandra's parents and when she was first diagnosed of this tumor, we were devastated but Dr. Hoeprich eased our minds with all he explanations of how the surgery would be perform. Thank you Dr. Hoeprich for taking such excellent care of our sweet Alexandra.

How much I appreciate the help and care given by the office staff. Thea is very sharp, expedient, helpful and kind. She made me feel confident that I was in good hands and I'll always be grateful.
I just have to say that Dr. Peter Letarte is AMAZING! After going through several providers trying to find answers, Dr. Letarte took the time to listen to me. He asked questions that noone else did. Even though he said my case was not surgical, he still did not give up on finding me the answers. He referred me to the best of the best neuropsychologists for indepth cognitive brain testing. They were able to uncover exactly what was causing my issues and referred me to the best speech, occupational, and physical therapists out there. I am so thankful for Dr. Letarte for taking the time to listen to me, to assist me, and to give me the chance to have my life back. I can not say enough about the kindness, sincerity, and care for his patients that he has.
I’m contacting you to report my very positive experience with Dr. Markarian. In spite of taking a lot of pain pills (OTC, Vicadin, Percocet) I could barely go to work for over a year due to constant sciatic pain in both legs. I was diagnosed with severe arthritis in my lower back, along with 3 severely herniated discs and misaligned vertebrae in my lower back. In December of 2010, Dr. Markarian performed 3 hour surgery on my back at Akron General Hospital. Other than taking a few OTC pain pills for about a week after the surgery, I haven’t taken any pain pills, and my sciatic pain is completely gone. Before the surgery, driving a car caused extreme sciatic nerve pain from hitting bumps in the road; even sitting on an air cushion did little to reduce the pain. Now, after the surgery, driving a car is completely painless.
Dr. Markarian is a fantastic surgeon. The results of the surgery couldn’t have been better; I can now live a normal, pain-free life. I highly recommend Dr. Markarian to anyone who needs back surgery.
I’m also very happy to report that my experience at Akron General Hospital was also excellent. Everyone at the hospital was very professional and friendly, and I was very pleasantly surprised at the nice selection of food, and how well it tasted.
