Gina Fegatelli, MSN, RN, FNP-BC
Gina grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio in 1996. She began her nursing career at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in the Neuroscience Institute where she practiced for 14 years. As a registered nurse, she worked on the regular nursing unit, critical care unit and was an assistant nurse manager. She graduated in 2008 from Ursuline College with a Master of Science in Nursing. She was inducted into the National Nursing Honor Society, Sigma Theta Tau and graduated Cum Laude. Gina became board certified as a FNP-BC (family practice nurse practitioner) through the ANCC shortly after graduation. As a Nurse Practitioner, she continued to practice in the Neuroscience Institute at the Cleveland Clinic and managed the inpatient Neurosurgery population on the regular nursing floor and two neuro step-down units which was comprised of 67 patient beds. After two years and departmental restructuring she switched her specialty to the Anesthesiology Institute where she then worked for 6 years. Gina was hired as the first Nurse Practitioner for the Acute Pain Management Service at the Cleveland Clinic. She worked alongside Staff Physicians and residents and managed pre-operative and post-operative pain management for multiple surgical departments. After 2 years in Acute Pain Management, she was recruited to work for the Chronic Pain Management Department at the Cleveland Clinic, Hillcrest Hospital. She worked for four years managing the inpatient chronic pain service at Hillcrest Hospital and held her own clinic twice a week and managed ambulatory chronic pain patients. In 2016 Gina returned to the one specialty that she holds dear to her heart and joined the Center for Neuro and Spine Surgery and couldn't be happier. She continues to thrive for higher education and has been working to complete her Doctoral degree through The University of Alabama.
